Gear & Equipment: Dane’s favorite weapon is a battle-axe; he owns several, but his favorite was given to him by an old friend who escaped the same Keeper, but moved on to a Freehold in Oregon.

Seeming Blessing: spend points of Glamour to increase dice pools involving Strength, Brawl, and Intimidate

Seeming Curse: no 10-again on Composure rolls (except for Perception); -1 die penalty to Composure when using it as a Defense trait

Kith Ability: Improvised Mayhem: by spending a Glamour point, character may rip a suitably sized object free of its moorings and fashion it into a crude but effective weapon as a standard action. No penalties for improvised weapons as long as the Bloodbrute wields it; others suffer -1 penalty.

Dane stands seven feet tall, his weight somewhere close to three hundred pounds. He is typically seen wearing neatly pressed slacks and polo shirts, though with heavy boots instead of loafers. His skin is a dark, rust-red color and though his eyes are a very normal dark brown, the sclera is brilliant blood red. His hair is a very pale blonde and he wears it in a buzz cut. He’s rarely seen without some sort of jewelry adorning his person. Dane’s Mantle manifests itself as an intense heat that seems to “dry out” anyone standing too close.

In Faerie, Dane Fort (born Dane Shirley, 1955) competed for cheering (though more often than not viciously jeering) crowds of Fae. His Keeper – a fat and sadistic brute – owned several gladiators. Unlike Adriannen, Dane was not so lucky as to win his freedom; instead he and his fellow gladiators staged a rebellion against their Keeper and charged through the labyrinthine coliseum, slaying everything that got into their way. By the time they reached the Hedge only two remained: Dane and his closest friend, another Bloodbrute who went by Clovis.

Dane, remembering his loving wife and children, steered the both of them back into the real world, only to find that his loving wife and children now loved some cheap, vile doppleganger. Dane stayed in Maryland while Clovis traveled to Oregon, unable to bear the sight of his own Fetch. He joined the Gilded Aspirants as his many gladiatorial battles gave him plenty of stories to tell, and he’d always enjoyed the spotlight.

Dane Fort, or as he is known to his fellow Gilded, “Greataxe Dane,” may be the typical brutish Ogre, but there’s none better in the Freehold when it comes to cleaving Hobgoblins in twain.
