Bio:

Appearance:

Granny is a hunched-over, deceptively frail old woman with nut-brown skin that has the texture of tissue paper. Her hair is wild and dull gray, but her dark brown eyes are quite alert, forever darting about looking for an interesting new plant or animal.

Concept:

Linda Lewis (b. 1947) was raised on a farm in western Maryland. From a young age she learned to tend to the plants, help slop the hogs and feed the sheep, and card wool when shearing season came around. Taken at fifteen, Linda’s Keeper forced her to tend his magnificent woodland gardens. Nothing was ever good enough for her Keeper, a shambling mass of forest loam and thorns, and Linda suffered many beatings at the end of a thorny lash.

Linda escaped in 1977, though she looked as though she had aged twice as much as she should have given that she’d been away from home for thirty years. Her Fetch had settled in nicely and was living two farms over with Linda’s childhood sweetheart.

Linda wandered for a while, finally ending up in the Freehold of Mocha Hill, where she aligned herself with the Autumn Court. After all, she had always believed in the folktales and legends that had been passed on from generation to generation within her own family; surely there was no better way to put them to use than by delving into faerie magic and embracing it as a way to get back at her Keeper.

The leader of Devil’s Nest Motley, Granny Taters is also the self-appointed “holistics” expert of the Autumn Court. She and Clare Seaward of Calvert County frequently get together to compare notes on the latest trends in folk remedies.
