Concept: Silent warrior trying to reclaim Knight’s Oath (vassal to Eltiana; Lifetime duration)his life from a criminal alter-ego.
Background: Birth name Jason Kearns, DOB 10/20/72, abducted 1980, returned 1991.
Third of four children, with two older brothers and a younger sister growing up in PG County. Jason was an athletic young kid, but never got past age seven before being kidnapped in the back of a van by a pair of large but somewhat misshapen men (who weren’t human at all) while coming home from school. Jason initially thought he was getting abducted by drug dealers or petty criminals, but in reality the two men were minions of an animal-headed Keeper known as “The Jackal” who wanted ogre guardians for his mountain palace, and bred his warriors and guardians from a young age. Jason spent his Durance as Tiberius, the stone-faced prison guardian who made sure that the Jackal’s “experiments” on changelings in service of rival Keepers went unnoticed. After eighteen years of such service, Tiberius wanted to come home and get out of this nonsense, even if it took the help of a couple Wizened prisoners.
Tiberius managed to escape, but couldn’t find his mortal family who moved from the house he grew up in. Furthermore, Tiberius started to suspect that someone really dangerous was after him, and came to a rude awakening when he found out that his old life was taken over by a drug kingpin and notorious gangster. Tiberius had to get to the bottom of this and take his life back, but was powerless: he eventually met up with the Mocha Hill freehold to strike some kind of agreement. Tiberius knew that he had to be subtle and use stealth (in contrast to his ogrish nature) to dispatch a dangerous criminal who wasn’t your typical Fetch, and eventually struck a deal with the Onyx Court to get to the heart of a threat against then-pregnant Eltiana and to make sure she stays hidden while Odessa tries to divine the nature of this changeling-born child. Tiberius eventually fought off a Gristlegrinder named Zulgg (who some whisper has a link to Dravain) and was knighted by Eltiana for his valiant effort. Eltiana pulled a few strings with Fate (as only she can) to re-unite Tiberius with his mortal sister Jenalle and keep her at arm’s length from his Fetch, and keep Tiberius hot on the elusive Fetch’s trail, who has evaded police by travelling through the Hedge on several occassions. Fate has yet to extract a price for all this tampering, but in the meantime Tiberius tries to keep himself and those close to him out of harm’s way…
